Roof System Consulting
RMIS Engineering’s approach to roof system consulting is based on managing roof systems from design through construction and provide ongoing assessment throughout the life cycle of the roof system. Including, preventative maintenance to ensure roof systems perform and premature failure is avoided. RMIS Engineering specializes in all low slope roofing systems including multi-ply SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene), Built-up roof (BUR), Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer) EPDM, Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Spray Polyurethane Foam-based (SPF) and sloped conventional roofing systems including metal and shingles.
Building Envelope Consulting
The building envelope is made up of several different systems that all need to be aligned in order for the building envelope to perform. The exterior finishing’s of walls are the first component of the system typically made of brick, stucco, metal cladding. The second components are fenestration’s on the walls consisting of doors, windows and exterior penetrations through the walls. The third component of the system is the vapour barrier which serves the purpose of keeping moisture out of the building and last component is the insulation levels on exterior walls. RMIS Engineering works with facility owners and operators to assess building envelope issues before large problems arise, such as structural damage. RMIS Engineering uses several methods ranging from non-destructive testing with capacitive discharge and thermal imagining scanners to intrusive investigations where walls are stripped back to reveal their structural components for assessment. RMIS is a full service engineering firm servicing clients on building envelope upgrades including condition assessments, preliminary and detailed design, tendering, project and contract management to project close out.
Fall Protection Consulting
Fall protection systems have changed over the years. RMIS Engineering team has a comprehensive understanding of fall protection requirements making sure facility operators are safe when working from heights. RMIS Engineering can assist facility owners with understanding what is required by code, this can be done with a fall protection assessment. RMIS can creates fall risk management plans that can be used to mitigate personnel risk when working from heights on facilities. If a facility operator already has an existing fall protection system RMIS Engineering can conduct the required assessments to re-certify fall protection systems. If a new fall protection system is required RMIS will utilize its engineering and project management teams to ensure the system is designed and installed correctly.
